To me, the act of cooking, eating and drinking is not only a way to please your palate, but to expand your horizons and feed your soul. I get beyond excited about travelling, in my own country or abroad, while meeting interesting people along the way, especially knowledgeable artisans, foragers, winemakers, craft-beer makers, chefs and small producers who make food and drink their lives’ work. Those people whose hard work keep traditions alive and ensures you a real taste of place.
In my travels and through researching editorial stories, I discovered how challenging (not to mention time-consuming!) it could be to pin-point those must-see foodie spots, and to discover and book the best experiences online. And that’s why I started the delicious, exciting online adventure that is Eatsplorer.
I want to share the love and make it easy for anyone with a passion for good food and a sense of adventure to find the most amazing, authentic, interesting and memorable culinary experiences and stays that the world have to offer.
Here at Eatsplorer we make it our mission to find the best culinary experiences and products that are unique to a place, its people and its history, but also ones that tap into modern culture and the latest food trends. We like to showcase the people behind the food and tell their stories; let them share their expertise with you.

Thinus Kruger – Writer
Thinus Kruger spends most of his time as an Honours student in Marketing, at the University of Stellenbosch. More often than not, however, his mind will be on his passions. Thinus grew up in a house that values great food (nearly) above all else, and food appreciation simply became a way of life. If you can’t find him typing away at his writing, or brushing up on his studies, you’ll probably find him in a craft brewery, or screaming at Ferarri on Formula 1. If it was up to him, preferably both at once.
